Sell Your Cards, Games, & Miniatures

What cards, games, and miniatures do you buy?

The Relentless Dragon buys select Magic: the Gathering and Pokémon cards, as well as Dungeons & Dragons miniatures. We also may tender offers on select board and non-collectible card games, as well as Role-Playing Game (RPG) books. Below is some general information about the cards and other items we buy. The price we will pay on any given card or other item depends on its condition, age, and current market demand. For a quote on any given card or item that falls under the descriptions listed below, please either send us a high-resolution photo of both sides of the item, or give us a call to see if one of our buyers is in the store to evaluate it. For a quote on large-volume or high-value sales, an appointment is strongly recommended.

Please note that in order to protect other products in our inventory, products that we purchase must have no unpleasant odors due to smoke or storage in musty areas.

Can I sell Magic: the Gathering Cards?

Yes! We buy Magic: the Gathering cards! Cards must generally be in Lightly Played (LP) condition or better, with exceptions made for some older or more valuable cards. We buy both individual cards and bulk collections.

Can I Sell Pokémon Cards?

We buy Pokémon cards!  Cards must generally be in Lightly Played (LP) condition or better, with exceptions made for some older or more valuable cards. We buy individual cards and occasionally bulk collections based on our existing supplies.

Be aware that there are many articles and videos circulating the Internet which claim outrageous values for Pokémon cards.  In most cases the information contained in these articles and videos is completely erroneous.  A card’s age is not a good indicator of its value.  Are you wondering what your older cards may be worth? Check out the Identifying Early Pokémon Cards page for information on how to identify exactly which cards you may have.

Can I sell Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures?

We buy commercially pre-painted and unpainted Dungeons & Dragons miniatures. We also purchase select home-painted figures on a case-by-case basis.

Can I sell Warhammer figures or armies?

We typically do not purchase assembled Warhammer minis, whether they are painted or unpainted.  We may however, purchase figures or armies that are still on sprue, and preferably still in box.

Can I Sell Other Card or Board Games?

We buy a few card and board games consistent with those that we generally carry in the store during non-holiday periods. These are usually non-traditional games. For example, we are not in the market for Uno or Chutes and Ladders, but we may be interested in games like Catan and Abyss, as well as other games which rank highly on BoardGameGeek.com. Typically, we will only buy games that rank 500 or better on BoardGameGeek.  We do not buy themed or un-themed Monopoly or Clue games. Have a question about whether we might be interested in your games? Contact us!

Board or card games must be complete.  We do a thorough inventory of all components of these games to ensure that a game is complete.  Any missing components that will negatively impact game play will be automatically rejected.  Missing components that do not impact gameplay will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  For example, if a game contains 100 identical tokens, but one or two are missing, we may still consider that game for purchase.  On the other hand, if the only copy of a critical card or token is missing, we will reject that item.

Because of the inventory process, selling board or card games can be a time-intensive process.  Please make an effort to save time for all parties by pre-checking your items for completeness prior to bringing them in.

Can I sell Dungeons & Dragons or Other Books?

Yes! We do purchase pre-owned gaming books which are in good condition and for which there is a market.

What else do you buy?

Generally, the above covers the items that we purchase. However, we may consider purchasing other items from time-to-time, especially if they are part of a large estate, rather than one-off purchases.

The Fine Print

You must have U.S. State or Federal Government-issued identification to sell items to us. You must be 18 years of age or older or be accompanied by a parent or guardian (not a friend). Nothing on this page may be construed as an offer to buy your items. All purchases are final.

Staff may, at their discretion, especially on Fridays or during large events, choose to limit the number of cards or other products which they will evaluate for purchase. If you plan to pay for an event entry on Fridays (or any other day) with the sale of cards, please be sure to arrive well in advance of the event—perhaps even on a prior day.
