Learn to Play Pokémon for Free every Sat/Sun!

Lots of kids have Pokémon card collections but don't know how to actually play the game. We offer *free* one-on-one instruction in playing Pokémon to both kids and adults, ages 5 and up. The only requirement is an ability to count to 15 and to recognize numbers--the ability to read is nice, too, but not required.

Drop by any time any day, especially during Pokémon League time on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and we would be happy to teach you and/or your child to play. You may bring your own cards or we will provide standard "training" decks you can use while here. If you bring your own cards be sure to bring lots of energy cards that match your Pokemon (if you don't know what that means it's OK).

Yes, it's really Free!

There is no obligation to buy anything. We offer instruction for free in the hope that when and if you do decide to buy cards, you'll buy them from us. :) And so that everyone will have more people to play with.

Who Are We?

We are The Relentless Dragon, a game store in Amherst, NH. We are a friendly family game store. Game stores are different from other stores--our customers don't just come in, buy something, and leave. They come in, sit down at one of the many tables in our gaming area, and stay for a few hours playing games of their choice. Sometimes they buy something, sometimes they don't. We offer a small selection of snacks and a good selection of beverages, including regular soda, Diet Pepsi, water, and Gatorade--all reasonably priced at less than convenience store prices.

Can Kids Come Alone?

Yes! Kids love to spend time here and even hyper children mysteriously find the ability to sit still for hours on end! If your child is old enough to walk to, for example, the local park by themselves and can be trusted to behave themselves (we know it's different for every child, usually 8+), then they are welcome to spend the afternoon with us while you take some time off. We are not child-care providers and will not police your children or take legal responsibility for them, but of the 4 owners, 3 of us are experienced parents.
